This is my 5th mechanical keyboard (it’s a problem, I know!), and my second “quick remove” style unit, but my other one has a ribbon cable which I have nearly damaged; the pogo-pins in this unit do away with that concern! The pogo connector even features magnets to help it make the connection when you change the amount of foam - I found this out the first time I inserted the thickest foam and wondered why the keyboard wasn’t working, I went to remove the top again and the connector seemed to click together before it was opened! The key switches are easily changed without opening the board, but my right arrow required more force than expected to insert, but never properly clicked into the PCB. When I removed it, I found out why… it’s the lower right corner of the PCB and there’s so much flex that it didn’t have enough resistance. With a little coercion, I was able to get it seated properly and then closed everything up.
I’ve only been using this keyboard for a week now, but it’s already my favourite and I think another is in my future for a family member who is already fawning over the sound of my new keeb!
